Per CISD guidelines, students who have vomited 2 or more times in the previous 24 hours should stay at home. For our most up-to-date guidance for illness, please visit the link below.

Medications to be administered at school must be delivered and signed into the clinic by the parent--please do not send medication to school with your student! Over-the counter medications must be labeled and labeled for age-appropriate use. Prescription medication must include the pharmacy label. All medications, including cough drops, must be kept in the clinic during the school day. For more information click the link below

If your child has a history of asthma, please contact the clinic to discuss his/her individual needs. If rescue medication has been used in the last 12 months, it may be advisable to keep medication at school for emergencies. Please keep your contact information up-to-date so you can be easily reached in the event of an emergency.

Management of food allergies at school is focused on providing a safe environment for all students and involves staff, students and families. Please contact the clinic to discuss your child's individual needs.

Students with long term activity restrictions (for example, after a fracture or complicated illness) should provide documentation from the health care provider excusing them from activity. Short term (no more than 3 days) restrictions due to minor illness or injury may be requested by the parent in writing, or by e-mail or phone. Students excused from participation in PE may choose study hall or quiet activity at a playground picnic table during recess.

If your child has glasses, please help them to remember to bring/wear them to school each day. Vision screenings can be done at any time, so if you have concerns about your child's vision (and/or hearing), please contact the clinic to request an evaluation.

At David Elementary, students attend PE regularly. A closed toed, flat shoe with a soft sole that won't slip off the foot is best for safe play.
